Family owned and operated for three generations. Providing residential housing and commercial business property for over 63  years, in and around the Lexington, NC area.

Established in 1962 by Ardell and Edna Lanier, Standell, a combination of two family names, their son Gail Stanley and Ardell. The name was created by Ardell’s daughter, Ann, a teenager at the time and now one of Standell’s Principal owners. 

Standell Corporation worked for years out of the family’s hardware store, Lanier True Value Hardware (now Lanier Ace Hardware,)  in Lexington until relocating to their current location across the street at the Lanier Village.

The Lanier Village is a mixed use complex of commercial and residential condo units completed in 2008. This project of development was one of Ardell’s last major projects before his passing several years later. Ann and Newell Clark worked alongside Ardell in constructing this project. Newell is the third generation of Laniers to work at Standell being Ardell’s grandson and Ann’s son. 

Fun Fact, Newell is referred to around town as “the Honorable” simply due to over 10 years of service to his hometown as the Mayor of Lexington from 2011-2022.

Civic Service has been apart of the Lanier family for decades. With all family members serving on boards and commissions throughout Lexington and North Carolina.
